RF Biomass Consortium




















The Roaring Fork Biomass Consortium (RFBC) consists of five local non-profit organizations: Aspen Global Change Institute, Community Office for Resource Efficiency, The Sopris Foundation, Flux Farm, and For The Forest. These five groups came together under the comon interest of renewable energy and carbon sequestration, and applied for a woody biomass feasibility analysis grant from the Colorado Governor's Energy Office in May, 2010.

If the RFBC is awarded the grant, they will conduct a woody biomass feasibility analysis that will focus on the following four areas:

* Available supply of wooddy biomass in the Roaring Fork Valley

* Site analysis

* CO2/ transportation assessment

* Outreach and education for design professionals, government officials, and community leaders
